★ 'Uki'uki is a plant that grows purple berries that have very strong tinting power. Hawaiians made purple dye from them to decorate their handmade fabrics. This paint doesn't use dye, though, just pigments - ultramarine purples and a hint of magnetite black.
★ pigment origin: Germany, France, USA
PV 15, PbK 11
★ A note on granulation: the more rough the paper you use is, the better the granulation. Also, use plenty of water for best granulating effects. Papers that I've tried and that I think work well with these paints: Canson Heritage, Shizen handmade paper, Khadi handmade paper, Baohong cold press, Hahnemühle Agave.
★ ALOHA WATERCOLORS are handmade with Organic Hawaiian honey, glycerine, Acacia sap (gum arabic) and artist grade pigments. 'uki'uki is mulled by hand for a minimum of 50 minutes and poured and dried 3 times. The process takes about 3 weeks.
★ This pan comes with a little magnet (magnetic tape) attached to the bottom (removable.
★ 100% lightfast and non-toxic
